The strength of a man must be measured by how much heart he has, not muscle or ego. People should be viewed by their respect towards others, the love in their heart and their passion towards life.
Before understanding JJ, I was confused and uncertain about the direction of my life. I worried about not having as much as the next man, and being smaller than most, I had fear of a bigger guy.
Luckily, many years ago God put me in the path of Rickson Gracie.
Through Jiu-Jitsu, Rickson has always taught me to believe in myself. He has shown me that with a positive attitude, good eating habits and faith in the Jiu-Jitsu, Jiu-Jitsu would be a vehicle for success in my life.
While there have been many different paths available, I have always given priority to the Jiu-Jitsu path. It has been the best decision of my life. More than ever, today I have the proof of the results of believing in something and someone who is the leading authority in the martial arts today.
Rickson's teachings have given me the capacity to make honesty, creativity, friendship, courage, balance, faith, health, and respect the foundation of my character. For this I owe Rickson all the respect, devotion and loyalty as a soldier.
There were many times in my life when I thought about quitting. As I matured, I realized that to achieve what you want it is not going to be easy. Today quitting doesn't even come to mind.
No matter which paths are available to you, to be something you have to choose something. It is the only way to succeed. Thankfully, I chose Jiu-Jitsu.
Today, jiu-Jitsu is part of my blood. I teach Jiu-Jitsu with passion. It is my way of giving back to God by helping God make people uncover the positive aspects of the human spirit.
